Hitachi Invests $3 Million in AI Company Rithmik Solutions to Advance Mining Equipment Analytics

All News

Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. announced a $3 million investment in Rithmik Solutions Ltd., a Canada-based artificial intelligence company developing technology for mining equipment data analysis. Rithmik's solution helps mine sites around the world turn complex equipment data into clear, actionable guidance — improving fleet performance and helping prevent machine failures earlier.

"Rithmik Solutions' technology is among the most advanced globally," said Simon Wilson, COO of Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas. "Their approach to building an open platform for collaboration with diverse partners aligns perfectly with our vision for the future."

Strengthening LANDCROS Connect Insight

Rithmik's technology will be integrated into LANDCROS Connect Insight — Hitachi's platform for the mining industry, which already provides real-time data analysis and remote equipment monitoring. With the new AI-driven analytics, the platform will be able to identify the root causes of issues and recommend proactive maintenance earlier, preventing major breakdowns.

In demonstration testing at a mine site (August 2024 – July 2025), operational data from 40 dump trucks and six ultra-large hydraulic excavators were analyzed, confirming the accuracy of early-detected anomalies.

The investment follows Hitachi's announcement of a brand change: starting in April 2027, the company will operate under the name LANDCROS, with a focus on solutions that go beyond machinery alone. The partnership with Rithmik is part of the "Open collaboration" strategy — the "O" in the new brand name.

Why This Parallel Matters for Armenia

Armenia is undergoing its own technological shift. Near Hrazdan, in Kotayk Province, the Firebird AI megaproject is underway — a data center with tens of thousands of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, with Phase One valued at $500 million and Phase Two already scaled to $4 billion with capacity for tens of thousands more GPUs. The project is backed by the governments of Armenia and the United States and is positioning the country as a notable regional AI hub.

Against this backdrop, Armenia — with its established mining sector — has its own logic for interest in AI-driven equipment analytics: the country is simultaneously expanding its computing infrastructure and has real industrial demand that technologies like Hitachi's and Rithmik's are positioned to serve.
