Cummins QSK23-C with FCO — 6-cylinder, 23.2 L displacement, turbocharged with after-cooling. Fuel Consumption Optimization system reduces operating costs.
Main Pump Electric Regulators — each hydraulic pump has its own electric regulator, delivering enhanced engine power, lower fuel consumption and more efficient performance.
Hydraulic Regeneration Circuit — boom, arm and bucket are fitted with a flow regeneration valve, reducing power requirements from the hydraulic system and engine, lowering fuel consumption and improving pump life.
Engine-Pump (E-P) Control — Hitachi's computer-aided system senses load demand and controls engine and pump output to match the work being performed, maximizing efficiency and lowering fuel costs.
Auto-Idle — when in neutral, auto-idle reduces engine speed to save fuel. The engine immediately returns to the designated speed when control levers are operated.
Hydraulic Radiator Fan Motor — fan speed automatically adjusts to meet engine requirements, creating an optimized cooling system with less horsepower demand and less operational noise.
The EX-7 series embraces Hitachi's latest advancements in design to consistently meet the tough demands of the mining industry. Engineered from the ground up to strike a balance between productivity and reliability.
Full-Box Section Front Attachment — boom and arm are welded, utilizing a full-box section design to evenly distribute stress and provide ease of maintenance.
Backhoe (BH) Excavating Force: arm crowding force 438 kN (44,660 kgf), bucket digging force 569 kN (58,020 kgf).
Loading Shovel (LD) Excavating Force: arm crowding force on ground 585 kN (59,700 kgf), bucket digging force 709 kN (72,300 kgf).
Auto-Leveling Mechanism for Loader Application — Hitachi's proprietary leveling cylinder mechanism allows the bucket to be pushed out horizontally using a single arm lever movement, providing higher digging power especially at end of stroke.
Auto-Power Lift — if hydraulic load becomes excessive while the boom is being lifted, the main relief pressure setting increases automatically, improving lifting power, operability and efficiency.
Bucket Design & Control — optimized for excavator performance and longevity. Bucket dumping angle can be freely adjusted for efficient dumping, reducing shock to the dump body for longer service life.
At Hitachi, safety is paramount. Sophisticated safety features have been elevated to a new level. Improved pathways, handrails, and dual isolator switch as standard all make for a safer working environment.
Dual Isolator Switch (standard) — conveniently located switch offers the option to deactivate the engine and battery individually. Battery isolator disconnects both terminals; engine isolator deactivates the starter motor while allowing battery power to the electric system for troubleshooting.
Engine Stop Switches — located in both the engine room and cab for ease of access.
Rear View Camera — mounted on the counterweight for a wide, unobstructed field of view on the cab's LCD monitor. Operation status icons and rear view can be displayed simultaneously.
Access and Walkways — anti-slip walkways and a specifically designed handrail system reduce the risk of tripping. A slide ladder is provided as standard, giving easy access from the ground level.
Travel Motion Alarm — an audible alarm warns surrounding vehicles and personnel when the excavator is travelling.
OPG Top Guard Level II (ISO 10262) — provides secure protection from falling objects, ensuring operator safety.
Multi-Functional Display — 7-inch high-definition color multi-monitor screen with LED backlight. Provides key machine information, performance indicators, and on-board troubleshooting. 32 languages supported.
Multi-Functional Controller — dial type controller makes operation easy and intuitive. Frequently used switches are on the right-hand console within easy reach of the operator.
Power Boost Switch — temporarily increases pump pressure and maximizes hydraulic power in the front attachment when digging in hard rock environments.
Climate Controlled Air Conditioning — pressurized cab with optimized filtering of interior and exterior air. New flexi-vent system provides a personalized and balanced environment.
Operator Seat — weight-adjusting cushioned seat with customizable suspension settings. Optional air suspension seat activates by a single switch, automatically calculating optimal cushioning according to operator weight.
6-Point Fluid-Filled Elastic Mounts — significantly reduce shocks and vibration for operator comfort and cab durability. Can be replaced from underneath the cab floor without lifting the cab.
Operator Amenities — hot and cool box, multiple drink holders, 12V power supply, stereo speakers, external audio input, large storage space, door-activated dome light.
Hitachi believes in safe and simplified maintenance. The EX1200-7's unique modular design, combined with spacious passageways and work platforms, provides clear access for daily upkeep and major component inspections.
Wide Center Walkways and Open Service Areas — offer ease of access for daily maintenance tasks and make engine, hydraulic, and electrical component inspections easy.
Maintenance Alerts & Troubleshooting — each time the machine is turned on, the monitor prompts regular maintenance schedules. Error codes can be displayed by authorized service personnel for quick troubleshooting.
Centralized Filter System — frequently accessed filters are conveniently located in the center access way for quick inspection.
Auto-Lubrication System (optional) — supplies grease to the superstructure including bucket pins. Advanced redesigned system with 95L large capacity grease tank, new grease pump, in-line grease filter and breather with filter.
Reverse Fans — radiator and oil cooler fans can be reversed to eject dust on cores and screens, reducing the need for labor-intensive maintenance and extending component life.
Fuel Fast Fill Piping (optional) — easy access from the ground to refill fuel. Can also be fitted with an optional quick coupler.
Contamination Sensors (optional) — located on main hydraulic pumps, travel motor and swing motor. Alert the operator, record the fault code in the DLU with capability to remotely advise maintenance personnel.
Hitachi's EX-7 excavators connect physical features with digital technologies for seamless and intuitive operation. Extensive onboard sensors, diagnostic tools, real time data and advanced software empower personnel with a better understanding of mining operations.
Aerial Angle — 360° Surround View (optional) — provides the operator with a real-time continuous birds-eye view around the excavator. Cameras strategically mounted on the machine combine to a single aerial view of the EX1200-7 surroundings. Multiple screen display options can be selected on the cab's 12-inch Aerial Angle monitor for ease of operation during work.
Global e-Service Platform — Hitachi's web-based platform sends vital machine information directly to the customer in an easy-to-understand format. The DLU continuously records engine and hydraulic system performance data.
Satellite / GPRS Communication (optional) — standard machine information is transmitted daily through either satellite or GPRS directly to the Hitachi Global e-Service platform to support the mining operation.
